7 Death Amber Flower
1. In ancient Mayan society, women of nobility had a very important role even in politics. Maternal lineages were as important as the father lines. And many of those women came to rule. They were also noted by the practices of self-sacrifices. 7 Death Amber Flower is mostly designed based on this depictions.
Another important thing: in Ancient Mesoamerica the idea of a ruler of foreign origin was not uncommon. The rough equivalent in the real world would have been a Classic Mayan queen as the ruler of a Zapotec kingdom.
2. The second song of Vocaloid I heard was the one of the Daughter of Evil. I loved the main idea. I am aware a lot of elements were expanded later by the author, but I have not read/heard/seen them. But I liked the idea of a pair of twin siblings, one a tyrant and fearsome ruler, and the other devoted to her but with some kind of morality.
3. For aesthetic reasons, I took the looks of Desna and Eska, the cousins of Avatar Korra. Not only they were a pair of androgynous creepy twins on their own, but I felt their physiognomy would fit better with the frame story. Some accounts of the ancient Mexico tell about similar hairstyles.
4. As the story is settled on an alternate universe, where Precolumbian civilizations never were conquered, the main story is heavily based on true events of many different peoples. But as the most information about them regards to the Mexica People, their kings and wars, I had to work with that. And I liked the idea of someone devoted to the extreme, loyal, but also arrogant, ambitious, fearful and superstitious, and who had a bad end due these defects. As Moctezuma Xocoyotzin.
5. The other main influence from the Avatar-verse was the power-hungry, intimidating Azula. What if she had ruled effectively the Fire Nation for some years? Some personal traits as an ambiguous mental disorder, mommy issues, some sadist tendencies, a good tactician sense, Amber Flower has some of those.
6. The original inspiration for the events of The Daughter of Evil was the life of Mary Antoinette of France. So, I did a little research to clarify some details.
7. As she firmly believed on her divine heritage, she is supposed to wear elements that can be traced to both Sun (the color of her clothes, the banded tattoos on her arms) and Moon (the piercings on her cheeks). Some of those myths were added to the backstory.

7 Muerte Flor de Ámbar
(Creo que es más que obvio que no he podido dibujar... como sea)
1. En la Antigua sociedad maya, las mujeres de la nobleza jugaban un papel muy importante en la política. Los linajes maternos eran tan importantes como los paternos. Algunas de esas mujeres llegaron a gobernar efectivamente. También era notorio que ellas llevaban a cabo muchos auto sacrificios. 7 Muerte Flor de Ámbar está basada principalmente en las imágenes de estas reinas.
Otra idea importante: en la antigua Mesoamérica la idea de un gobernante extranjero no era infrecuente. El equivalente aproximado en la vida real hubiera sido una reina maya de un pueblo zapoteco.
2. La segunda canción de Vocaloid que escuché fue la de la Hija del Mal. Me encantó la idea principal. Sé que la historia original fue expandida posteriormente por el autor, pero no lo he visto directamente. Pero realmente me llegó la idea de un par de gemelos: una monarca temida y tirana, y un hermano devoto a ella aunque conserve cierto rastro de moralidad.
3. Por razones estéticas, me basé un poco en Desna y Eska, los primos del Avatar Korra. No sólo son unos gemelos raros y andróginos por derecho propio, sino que su fisonomía se ajusta muy bien a la historia de referencia. Hay registros de peinados similares en el México antiguo.
4. Como la historia se desarrolla en un universe alterno, donde las civilizaciones mesoamericanas nunca fueron conquistadas, el relato se basa en mucho eventos históricos de estos pueblos. Sin embargo, la más información trata sobre los mexica, sus reyes y sus guerras, y tuve que trabajar en ello. Me gustó la idea de una personaje muy devoto, leal, pero también arrogante, codiciosos, cobarde y supersticioso, y que tuvo un mal fin por estos defectos. Como Moctezuma Xocoyotzin.
5. La otra influencia importante del universo de Avatar fue la deseosa de poder e intimidante Azula. ¿Qué hubiera pasado si hubiera llegado a gobernar en la Nación del Fuego? Algunas cosas como un desorden mental ambiguo, problemas con su mami, algunas tendencias sádicas, y un buen sentido táctico, las comparte Flor de Ámbar.
6. La inspiración original de los eventos de la Hija del Mal fue la vida de María Antonieta de Francia. Así que hice una investigación para afinar detalles.
7. Como ella creía firmemente en su herencia divina, ella debe usar siempre elementos que la vinculen tanto con el Sol ( el color de la ropa, las bandas tatuadas en los brazos) y la Luna (las perforaciones de las mejillas). Algunos mitos se añadieron también a la caracterización.
